Peter Steiner’s United is a New Favorite

We recently hosted Peter Steiner and Constanze Hochwartner, known together as Duo Steiner-Hochwartner. The duo performed a truly unforgettable recital.
I was so inspired by the performance that I purchased four copies of Peter’s debut CD, United. I already owned the recording, but I wanted to buy multiple copies to give to friends so they too can discover Peter’s incredible artistry! Peter has become an excellent ambassador for the trombone as a solo instrument and performs well over 100 recitals each year. Don’t miss an opportunity to hear him play!
United is a tremendous debut recording, featuring Peter with pianist Hsiao-Ling Lin, and on some pieces, cellist Silver Ainomäe. The repertoire on United is an exciting combination of standard trombone pieces by Bozza and Castérède, thrilling transcriptions of music by Debussy, Puccini and Piazzolla, and new compositions for trombone by Todd Goodman and Ricardo Mollá Albero. I honestly can’t pick a favorite! All the pieces and performances are excellent.
Peter performs with incredible tonal colors, detail, nuance, and finesse. He has a tremendous range and plays with great control and pitch into the extreme upper and lower registers of the trombone. He is an artist that is capable of reaching audiences much wider than just trombonists. I see many great opportunities for him in the future.
United is a recording that all trombonists should own, and encourage their non-trombonists friends to listen to. Get it now! I was also excited to hear that the first recording of Duo Steiner-Hochwartner is recorded and will be released in July of 2019. I can’t wait!
