OSU Jazz Trombones at 2021 UNT JTBN Day

OSU Jazz Trombones at 2021 UNT JTBN Day

The 2021 University of North Texas Jazz Trombone Day took place on November 20th.  The day included performances by Nick Finzer, Ido Meshulam, and the UNT U-Tubes, plus virtual sessions with Jeffery Miller and T.J. Norris.

The OSU Jazz Trombone Ensemble was also invited to perform a concert.  The ensemble was comprised of trombonists Jonathan Hanna, Corey Burton, Ethan Do, and Ethan Warren, and bass trombonists Elizabeth Toles and Benjamin Grief.  In addition, the students were able to collaborate with Stockton Helbing on drums, James Driscoll on bass, and Brian Piper on piano.

The OSU Jazz Trombones program was Bonerama’s arrangement of Blues for Ben, Paris Rutherford’s arrangement of Have You Met Miss Jones, Ethan Do’s arrangement of Moon River, Stockton Helbing’s composition As The Battle Wages On, and Carl Murr’s arrangement of Softly As In A Morning Sunrise.

The 2021 UNT JTBN Day was an amazing event, and it was an honor to have the OSU Jazz Trombones part of it.  Thank you to event host, and UNT Jazz Trombone Professor, Nick Finzer, for the opportunity.
