OSU Trombones Perform at 2019 Trombonanza Festival

The 2019 Trombonanza Festival took place from August 5-10 in Santa Fe, Argentina. The featured artists included Miguel Sanchez, Marshall Gilkes, Zoltan Kiss and Viento Sur Trombones.

The OSU Trombone Ensemble made its Trombonanza debut, performing a concert on August 6th at the Santa Fe Municipal Theater. The program included the music of Joseph T. Spaniola, Frank Ticheli, Victor Jara and Steven Verhelst. Jorge Urani (Argentina) was guest bass trombone soloist, and Francisco Alaniz Cerda (Chile) was guest conductor. The OSU trombonists were Jacob Eyler, Garrett Martin, Kyle Hunt, Jason Wolfe, Ryan Miller, Seth Giles, Elizabeth Toles, Jordan Davenport and Spencer Hudson.

The members of the OSU Trombone Ensemble also had the opportunity to participate in all of the weeks events, which included daily masterclasses, chamber music, large trombone ensembles and recitals. It was an incredible week!

Special thanks to Dr. Jeff Loeffert for supporting the travel expense, and to Ruben Carughi and Heini Schneebeli for the invitation.
